Medical Writing

If you enjoy writing about science and the communication of scientific data, a career in Medical Writing may be something you would wish to consider.

Possessing the qualities of attention to detail and pride in your work, yet able to work to deadlines, you may consider a career pathway in Medical Writing particularly rewarding.

Ideally you will have graduated from a Life Science or equivalent background and have worked in a commercial setting to expand your work experience.  Some of our clients prefer candidates to have a PhD although this is not always essential.

Upon application it is helpful to provide samples of your writing so potential employers can see your writing style and importantly you're potential.  Therefore if you are asked to attend an interview, the employer has already an appreciation of your work.

Likewise on your CV it is essential you include your publication history.

In What environment will I be working?

Many of our writing roles are based in the communications sphere of the industry and will be with Medical Communication agencies that specialise in Advertising and Medical Education.  Their clients are largely pharmaceutical companies and hence writers will be tasked with the communication of clinical data to more commercial audiences.  Therefore good communication skills when working with clients and an appreciation of deadlines are critical.

What will you be writing?
