Medical Editing
As a Medical Editor you will be part of a team working to produce quality educational materials, e.g. the transition of a publication from an approved manuscript through to completion. Completion may be pages typeset, printed copy or journal submission. This will involve checking for content, style, spelling and consistency.
The key responsibilities of an Editor are as follows:
Development of production schedules.
Editing of manuscripts - focusing specifically on grammar, key messages and consistency.
Layout check of page proofs.
Mark up manuscripts for typesetting.
Working with Opinion Leaders, on behalf of clients.
Experience and Qualifications required
Experienced Medical Editors would have a proven track record in editorial from either a medical communications environment or the publishing arena.
Educated to degree level, preferably a Life Science or equivalent.
Knowledge and experience of production processes, e.g. cost estimates, print buying.
Robust project and time management skills.
