Job Background:
Our client is a growing medical communications agency that creates medical education and communication solutions for the International pharmaceutical industry. They are currently looking for an Editor to join their team.
Job Duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES

Take overall responsibility and accountability for the direction, delivery and financial growth and management of a portfolio of client accounts.

Provide senior strategic counsel and leadership to clients, cultivating strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and assisting them to achieve their goals through the proposal and development of high quality communications solutions.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of customer organisations and high visibility within them, generating quality contact with senior-level client stakeholders both within client teams and across product franchises. Raise the profile of the agency within target client companies

Provide strategic direction of global or regional accounts encompassing all aspects of programme / project development through thorough knowledge of market issues, company and project overall strategic objectives.

Ensure the strategic medical / marketing development of all activities. Link in with service offerings where appropriate to ensure the most successful solutions for clients. Direct account teams on all aspects of project briefing, planning, scheduling, budgets and resourcing. Take overall responsibility for the quality of all deliverables and outputs. Responsible for client satisfaction

Continually review and ensure adequate resources are available to meet project deliverables and milestones
Financially accountable for allocated projects, closely monitoring profitability. Proactively initiate actions to maximise growth and profitability of accounts.

Review all budgets and schedules before they go to the Assoc. Director, Client Services for sign-off
Take responsibility for a new business development target and in association with QMC leadership team, develop targeted action plans to grow existing business and identify new business opportunities

Lead in establishing and executing a comprehensive sales plan for each target account. Ensure appropriate strategy / solution, where appropriate including wider services, is proposed to best address customer objectives. Monitor actions and results against plans. Report on performance, revenues generated, profitability and success ratios of the business

Participate in new business strategy formulation and targeting. Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities. Lead proposal development and sales / proposal presentations. Present internally and externally, for example New Business Plans Action Plans, Case Histories or Project Plans

Develop and implement continuous improvement processes, including training staff members
Maintain general knowledge of all services and capabilities for appropriate cross-sell opportunities. Ensure high profile within the wider organisation to drive internal new business opportunities and provision of communications expertise to enrich other offerings. Accountable for at least one service offering and leading to deliver business growth

Continually assess and maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape (activities, positioning and pricing) and keep abreast of potential opportunities and trends which includes specific reasons for awards and non-awards. Evaluate, review and make recommendations

Collaboratively work with executive members of the client's global management team to deliver the company’s strategic plan, taking responsibility for specific assignments and company initiatives, e.g. task forces or training

Act as an ambassador for the company by participating in relevant industry forums and establishing a reputation and network within the wider medical commuications industry
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong knowledge of all aspects of Pharmaceutical marketing including the strategy behind key tactical services including but not limited to live event logistics and technical support, design & production and digital & online

Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence others with perseverance as well as the talent for leveraging the capabilities of peers, business partners and associates

Well developed people management skills and proven experience in coaching and mentoring team members
Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and leading and participating in complex teams

Demonstrated ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain demanding timelines. Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities .Flexible personality and a quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including excellent customer service skills

Strong finance skills
Good problem solving skills
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate analysis to executable programs with defined goals. Must be able to articulate straightforward and elegant solutions

Strong organizational, planning, project management and logistics skills
Sound judgement and decision making skills
Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics
Strong software and computer skills, including MS Office applications


Bachelor’s degree in medicine, pharmacy, life sciences, marketing or other relevant area and experience within the pharmaceutical industry or agency environment, to include financial project management, pharmaceutical strategic marketing programs, implementation and monitoring of PR and Publication Planning projects, and people management; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
