Job Background:
We are looking for a Publications Account Manager to lead the client services team management of publications on this very large haematology/oncology account. This role requires a candidate who truly understands the importance and value of detail. The ability to multitask whilst maintaining a supreme attention to detail level is paramount. To track and effectively deliver this volume of publications requires the highest levels of concentration, forward planning, organizational, logistical and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and lead and motivate a team is crucial - previous line management experience is essential.
Job Duties:
Key responsibilities include: Responsible for all financial management (development of budgets/proposals, reconciliations, invoicing, debt tracking, forecasting) Line manager for Project Assistant Key contact for client team and authors Management of review process and database maintenance across multiple ongoing publications Liaison with studio and third-party suppliers Development and management of project timelines Provision of regular status updates to client team We believe the successful candidate will need the following skills and attributes: Ability to multitask Ability to line manage staff (experience essential) Ability to effectively manage the finances for own projects and accounts in the portfolio Drive to succeed with a combination of skills to manage project delivery but at the same time have the ability to forward plan and to seek out new business expansion opportunities
Job Qualifications:
We definitely need a candidate who can hit the ground running and has relevant experience on either client or agency side. The candidate will need to have publications management experience and knowledge of Good Publication Practice. There is definitely scope for career development and this would be a good move for someone with publications experience who is looking to move from industry to agency. Training and support will be provided. The following skills/background/experience should serve as a guide: Relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry and/or medical communications agency environments with a demonstrable track record Knowledge of publication planning and GPP Ability to network and build strong client relationships Strong selling, influencing and negotiating skills Financially literate with a good head for figures Organised and disciplined Excellent verbal and written communication Strong coaching and mentoring skills Problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude
