Account Management
Carry ultimate responsibility for all assigned day to day client work from proposals to implementation to delivery of results
Allocate appropriate fee levels to suggested activity and seek written confirmation/Purchase Orders from clients; manage process for any client expenditure
Ensure smooth implementation of client activity within agreed timescales and budgets
Give regular feedback on activity and results from campaigns
Flag up relevant issues to client and give strategic counsel
Implement x6 monthly client health checks / servicing analysis
Monitor account work time resources and alert Director to concerns about servicing levels
Media and External relations
Maintain and develop existing contacts and seeking to expand networks
Become a respected and trusted ‘expert’ and point of reference on behalf of clients with media and external contacts
Oversee and be part of outstanding sell-in of media stories, briefings, client issues and initiatives to generate coverage or to implement client objectives
Maintain outstanding knowledge of the relevant industry sectors and issues facing clients’ sector

Demonstrate full understanding of messaging/commercial objectives in each piece of client work undertaken
Demonstrate full understanding of context in which client is operating
Initiate, draft, develop and implement strategies and campaign to deliver client objectives
Identify strategic third parties and assess their suitability – celebrities, brands, NGOs, think tanks, campaign groups, media partners etc
Offer clients outstanding counsel on all programmes and initiatives
Input strategic thoughts and ideas into new business pitches, brainstorms and proposals
New business development
Develop list of new business targets to ‘shadow’ and proactive approach
Seek to generate fee from retained clients through suggesting new ideas
Draft tailored credentials for new business leads
Draft proposals/new business pitches
Play a lead role in new business pitches and present ideas with clarity and confidence
Promote externally to med tech industry at cluster networking events and conferences
Be aware of work undertaken, experience, expertise and disciplines of the company and sell-in skills to clients and potential clients as appropriate
Attend med tech industry conferences and selective Branding. Marketing communications and PR industry events to build external networks

Work with Director to build profitability on all accounts
Maintain ongoing budgets for clients and ensure activity delivered within budget
Source suppliers within budget and provide references/client PO’s for billing purposes
Implement and champion commercial procedures and ensure junior personnel adhere to these procedures

Line manage junior team members (as appropriate) including objective setting and conducting appraisals
Lead or manage client account teams
Develop and coach junior team members giving constructive guidance
Delegate tasks to work experience colleagues as appropriate
Identify training needs for direct reports as appropriate
