Are you looking for a position at the forefront of science and medicine? Our client is looking for a Deputy Editor to drive the success of its recently launched premier journal. The role will be full time and based in London, UK.
Job Duties:
Determining journal thresholds and guiding the journal’s future direction Handling peer review of submitted manuscripts Determining whether to publish a manuscript based on reviewers' reports Identifying topics for commissioning and driving the publication of subscription content Line management and training of Assistant Editors.
Job Qualifications:
The Deputy Editor will be a public face of the journal. As such, periodic travel for conference attendance will be required. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic PhD or MD (or equivalent) with a broad knowledge of genetics, genomics, and/or clinical medicine. Applicants should possess experience in administering peer review, with experience as a scientific editor, and should be comfortable with public speaking.
