Job Background:
Our Client, a Global Medical Education entity offers full service medical communications support to its clients.

They are currently looking for an Editorial Team Leader to join their team.

Job Duties:
To be part of the strategic and editorial development and production of high quality educational materials for the pharmaceutical industry and other educational bodies.

To enhance understanding of the product/disease area and help fulfil their marketing and strategic objectives. This will include tactical and strategic input into a wide range of printed and multimedia materials both at project and programme level, and proactive involvement in new business activities.

To act as the primary editorial contact for the account team on large programmes
To develop and implement strategic communications programmes in close collaboration with the client and client service teams
Design, develop, implement and manage publication plans
Contribute to all areas of editorial delivery to the highest possible standard
Ensure implementation of the editorial programme according to budgeted hours and deadlines agreed. Monitor and feedback progress to editorial colleagues and account teams
To mentor more junior writers and contribute to training where appropriate
Line management responsibilities for team members within the defined editorial account team. Specific line management duties, eg appraisals and grading will be performed in conjunction with the Managing Editor
Provide and coordinate full on-site services to meet client requirements

Provide medical advice, expertise and consultancy in areas of main strength, internally and externally
Establish, develop and maintain opinion leader relationships and advocacy

Job Qualifications:
Educated to degree level in the life or physical sciences

Previous agency experience at senior medical writer level, including experience of good multidisciplinary teamwork
Knowledge and experience of all aspects of commercial writing and editorial skills

Excellent scientific writing ability with ability to adapt for different target audiences
Ability to ensure all writing meets the clients strategic marketing objectives, as well as being of high scientific quality/credibility

Experience with a wide range of media including print, video, multimedia and web-based work

Remuneration:
Neg subject to experience plus excellent benefits.
