Job Background:
International Medical Communication Agency with a growing client base are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager.
Job Duties:
Expand the client base • Interest potential clients in the clients service offering • Maintain regular telephone contact with potential clients • Ensure contact database is updated with contact information Manage the new business process • Gather information about clients • Maximise proposal and quotation requests • Develop relationships with clients by managed contact: in writing, by telephone and in person • Create an agenda for all client meetings • Conduct a face-to-face needs analysis of client needs (i.e. product needs) • Develop creative proposals to meet product needs • Facilitate smooth working relationships • Visit and entertain clients • Maintain a strong new business pipeline Prepare client quotations and explanation of costing • Write creative proposals • Develop project and programme budgets • Negotiate contracts • Maintain a records system for all client contact Prepare business presentations • Customise presentations to the clients needs • Deliver presentations (in-house or external) NB This role involves extensive European travel.
Job Qualifications:
A dynamic and results-driven approach is a necessity. The ideal candidate will have previous medical communications or pharmaceutical sales experience. Educated to degree level, a scientific or medical degree or equivalent may be helpful.
