Job Background:
Our client is a leading independent healthcare communications group, with offices around the world. As an Editorial Director, you will lead and motivate a large team of Medical, Senior and Chief Medical Writers who combine powerful writing skills with expertise in medical science to deliver engaging content for the client’s products. You will be responsible for building on the Company’s established reputation for scientific integrity and writing excellence in medical education programmes by monitoring and improving the quality and content of the services provided to clients. You will be working with accounts and editorial teams to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet clients’ marketing and communication objectives and by providing strategic consultation to clients.
Job Duties:
Play an active role in establishing a cohesive and dynamic relationship between the accounts teams, the Editorial department and the client Draft and edit work in different writing styles targeted at different audiences (including internal audiences) in different therapy areas. Incorporate feedback from editorial colleagues, project team colleagues, clients and independent clinicians Develop innovative communications strategies and tactics to meet clients’ needs Provide input to internal processes which will enhance productivity within the Company Ensure quality standards are maintained and enhanced. Identify new business opportunities both with existing clients and new clients Communicate to ensure that Group and UK strategy is understood and actioned by the Editorial department
Job Qualifications:
A life sciences degree or equivalent, ideally combined with a Master’s degree, PhD or PharmD Publication/writing experience or experience in medical or pharmaceutical field Relevant medical information, communications, or marketing writing experience required (agency or pharmaceutical), or an appropriate combination of education and experience Experience in mentoring and managing staff required Computer Skills: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Proficiency in online medical resource searching (i.e., Ovid, Medline, Pub Med, etc.)
