Our client is the UK’s leading health website.

A collaboration between physicians, healthcare professionals, information specialists and patients who believe that best medical practice should be based on quality information and evidence-based clinical practices and principles.

Reporting to the Editorial Director you will take responsibility for maintaining the ‘Diseases and conditions database’

Work on additional projects for third parties, such as pharmaceutical companies and support organisations, as and when required.

Job Duties:
•        Be responsible for the rolling review programme of content. The medical fact sheet database content needs to be reviewed medically by experts every 12 to 18 months.
•        Commission authors and advisors to ensure content follows evidence-based clinical practices and principles.
•        Make sure that the quality of the site content is of the required high standard to meet the needs of the audience.
•        Undertake other appropriate duties as requested by the Editorial Director
Job Qualifications:
The successful candidate will most likely be a university graduate (or equivalent) with a healthcare communications or medical publishing background:
•        Experience of commissioning/writing/editing/publishing for the web. Previous experience of managing health content is desirable.
•        Familiarity with principles and practice of content management systems. We are not looking for a programmer but someone who is comfortable with web applications.
•        Training will be provided on bespoke content management systems.
•        Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office package essential.
•        Desirable: knowledge of basic html and experience of using XML software.
•        Excellent verbal and written skills.
•        High level of attention to detail.
•        Ability to work under pressure and observe strict deadlines.
•        Highly motivated and with a willingness to take responsibility.
•        Willing to contribute actively to web development activities.
